Our Deal Origination Experience

We primarily work with UK, European and North American private-equity-backed companies, sourcing transactions from £5m to £100m in enterprise value.

International Expansion

How we helped a US-headquartered firm expand into Europe

In 2022, we were approached by our client to assist with the deal origination of industrial automation companies in Europe. The US-headquartered company, backed by a North American private equity firm with $10bn of capital, was seeking multiple acquisitions in the region. It was imperative the first acquisition had revenue of $50m+ so that it could facilitate the acquisition of smaller domestic companies. The ultimate goal is to create a $100m+ revenue company in Europe.

We began by identifying the European countries and respective domestic regions in which industrial automation clusters had emerged. We appraised more than 1,000 potential targets. The targets were scored on their activity, verticals, size and their ownership status. The result was a shortlist of c.50 highly desirable acquisition targets, 80%+ of which engaged with us and a good portion of those progressed to meetings with our client.

The result is our client has a strong pipeline of European transactions for 2023 and 2024 with many now approaching deal completion.
